Free SPSS video tutorials

I think the team in the Texas A&M Stats department have done a great job in putting together this material, and providing it free on the web.  One caution is that is seems to be version 10.0.

I personally find that listening to all of them would be a bit rough in that you are just watching the mouse move around.  There is not enough variety of presentation to keep one attentive over the long haul. They used Camtasia, which allows a presenter to talk while recording a brief demo.  I have considered doing something like this myself. I have a different vision, and perhaps that will make it's way onto the site someday.

Having said that, this obviously is better than a book for several of the tasks.  And … the basic books like Surviving SPSS, and Andy Field's are also out of date.  So, the fact that it is version 10.0 doesn't seem to be a major strike against it. It is well worth a look in any case.

    Hi All,

    Texas A&M have done these videos, not me. They are worth a look, although they are very out of date. I have been learning about podcasts on my new mac, and hope to offer some 16.0 material soon.

    Great tutorials. I am running SPSS 17 (I guess I should call it PASW, that is gonna take some time to get used to!). Thanks for the link Texas A & M did a nice job. That is a lot of content and a lot of work. I have been going through a lot of it and much of it still applies in one way or another for the newest version. Keep up the SPSS/PASW work (tired of hearing that “real” stats can only be done in STATA or SAS)!
